In a society where sex sells and the female body is idolized, women are under more pressure than ever to look their best. For this very reason, plastic surgery has become increasingly popular over the years, especially among the younger crowd. Breast augmentations in particular, have been among the top procedures that women continuously choose to get. Unfortunately, they can be pretty expensive, leaving women with little options. One alternative however, is getting a natural breast enhancement, which isn’t as invasive as a breast augmentation and can cost significantly less.
Alternatives. When going under the knife isn’t an option for you, there are still plenty of other ways you can enhance your breasts naturally. Whether it be supplements, hormone injections, or creams, just because you can’t get implants doesn’t mean you should give up your dreams of having the body you want.
Supplements. Let’s start out with supplements. According to Medical Daily, there are nearly 50,000 supplements on the market today targeted for women who are looking to enhance their breasts the natural way. While this is most certainly a cheaper alternative than surgery, supplements aren’t always guaranteed to give you results.

Testing. “Anyone can sell a supplement, it’s very easy to do,” Dr. Tod Cooperman told Medical Daily. And although it’s the FDA’s responsibility to test the products and make sure they work, they don’t always get around to each product before it goes on sale for the public. However, when you’re on the hunt for a supplement, make sure it has ingredients that fall under these four categories: phytoestrogens, traditional aphrodisiacs, generic ‘women’s herbs’ and miscellaneous herbs.

Ingredients. Ingredients like soy, flaxseed, motherwort, oat straw, and palmetto are are herbs that are typically included in a breast enhancement supplement. While these ingredients mimic hormones in the body that are responsible for breast growth, there can be some instances where they actually stunt breast growth, particularly in pre-menopausal women, says Medical Daily.
Concerns. hile some people are hopeful that supplements will help them grow, other experts have warned against them. “The use of bust-enhancing products should be discouraged because of lack of evidence for efficacy and long-term safety concerns,” says Dr. A. Fugh-Berman of George Washington University, as reported by Medical Daily.

Cups. Next up, we have suction cups. While this might sound like a device out of a sci-fi movie, these products are very real. One product in particular is called the BRAVA, otherwise known as the Brava Breast Enhancement And Shaping System, which is essentially two giant silicone domes that you place over your breasts.

Domes. “The BRAVA Starter System consists of two semi-rigid domes, with specially engineered silicone gel rims, and a sophisticated minicomputer, called a SmartBox, that creates and regulates the tension within the domes. A sports bra is also included, to hold the domes and the SmartBox in place,” reads the website’s description.
Science. The science behind this device is that if worn as instructed, the breast tissue will eventually grow. The website recommends placing them on each breast for nearly the entire day, for ten weeks straight. In a study done of 50 women, 30 of them said they saw results after using the product.

Reviews. “Long-term breast enlargement without surgery is possible with an external tissue expander,” wrote the authors of the study, reports Medical Daily. Like with any product however, there are always people who weren’t satisfied. While some women admit they did see the results, they noticed their breasts shrank back to normal after they’d stopped using the device.

Procedure. If you’re still not convinced that these alternatives are right for you but are still hesitant about going under the knife, there is one more thing you can try. According to Medical Daily, fat grafting is a procedure very similar to liposuction, which essentially transfers fast from one part of your body to your breasts.
Filler. ”Fat is an appealing filler material for it is biocompatible, is abundantly available, can be easily harvested and processed, and can be injected in controlled amounts,” says an expert, as reported by Medical Daily. This procedure is much more natural than getting implants because it uses your own fat, and doesn’t leave your breasts looking fake.
Risks. The procedure takes a few hours, and recovery is just as long as getting breast implants would be, but at least you don’t have to risk an exploding silicone implant or one sloping out of place. But with any procedure, there are risks that come with fat grafting.

Breast cancer. “It can be tempting to think about fat grafting as a 'safer' procedure, since it doesn’t involve major surgery,” reports BreastCancerOrg. However, other studies have shown that you put yourself at a higher risk for getting breast cancer, says Medical Daily.
Think about it. At the end of the day, its important to weight all of your options out before making any rash decisions. Talk to a doctor before getting any procedures or taking any supplements, and take the time to think about it thoroughly before choosing what route you want to go.
